Our mission here at NeuroHealth is simple; to offer a comprehensive, non-judgmental approach for people who struggle with depression. Countless people all over the world have depression and struggle with their circumstances, not knowing what to do. Many people diagnosed with depression use antidepressants, psychotherapy, and alternative modalities to combat their depression. Some have failed a trial of these modalities and feel helpless because of their lack of improvement, but there is hope. TMS is a viable option for the treatment of depression. Our goal is to provide innovative treatment to combat depression and improve quality of life.
Dr. Lebel was born in Maine and grew up in a Navy family, traveling much before returning to her home of New England during her residency at Brown University. Her family roots are in New Bedford and Cape Cod, with Portuguese, English, Mik’maq, and French-Canadian heritage. She is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She completed her medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1997, and her Residency in General Psychiatry and Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Brown University in 2002, during which time she worked at Bradley Hospital and served as Chief Resident in the Child and Adolescent Training Program. Upon completion of her training, Dr. Lebel has been in practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, working both in private practice and in community mental health and residential treatment settings. She has expertise in the practice of Adult and Child Psychiatry, is board certified in both specialties, and has interests in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders, autism, developmental disabilities, psychotherapy, mindfulness and transcranial magnetic stimulation. She has been fascinated by the treatment and effectiveness of transcranial magnetic stimulation since she was a resident in training and is happy to be able to offer this as a treatment option for patients. When not working, you will find Dr. Lebel spending time with her family, enjoying the outdoors, cooking (and enjoying!) healthy foods, enjoying standup comedy, and trying to figure out which of her ideas or hobbies to start next.
